Discover the Ancient Art of TCM Acupuncture

TCM or Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world originating in China more than 5,000 years ago. Acupuncture is actually just a component of TCM - Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves stimulating points on the body through needle penetration. Traditional Chinese Medicine may also include tuina massage, acupressure, cupping, moxibustion, guasha, electro stimulation, heat therapy, auricular acupuncture, qi gong meditation, tai chi and Chinese herbs and diet/lifestyle counseling.

The Unique Sensation of Acupuncture

Acupuncture needles are metallic, solid and hair-thin. People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel no pain as the needles are inserted. Once the needles are inserted, it is normal to feel a slight heavy, itchy or tingling sensation. Some people are energized by treatments, while others feel more relaxed.

The Safety of Acupuncture Treatments

Only sterile, non-toxic, disposable needles are used. Patient treatment areas are swabbed with alcohol before needles are inserted.

Understanding the Healing Power of Acupuncture

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the body is seen as a delicate balance of two opposing, but inseparable forces: yin and yang. Yin represents the cold, slow, or passive principle, while yang represents the hot, excited or active principle. Health is a result of maintaining the body in a balanced state, and disease is the result of an internal imbalance of yin and yang. Often the imbalance is caused by, or can lead to a blockage of the flow of qi (vital energy), blood and body fluids along pathways known as meridians or channels that run through the body. Acupuncture works by stimulating the qi of points along the meridians path to encourage the body to correct the imbalance of yin and yang. The focus is holistic on each individual's particular circumstances, including predisposition, lifestyle and environment in order to determine the best course of treatment and point prescriptions. Many Western studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in treating a variety of conditions by regulating the nervous system to help stimulate biochemical such as endorphins and immune system cells. Other studies have also found that acupuncture altered brain chemistry by changing the release of neurotransmitters and neuro hormones and, thus affected the parts of the central nervous system related to sensation and involuntary body functions, such as immune reactions and processes that regulate a person's blood pressure, blood flow and body temperature.

What to Expect from Your Acupuncture Journey

Each person responds differently depending on their unique circumstances and lifestyle, but on average a 10-12 course of treatments, 1-2 times per week is sufficient to see significant results or complete improvement. Depending on your condition, you may want to continue regular monthly or seasonal treatment for general maintenance. Treatments are designed to encourage relaxation while addressing main complaints and specific underlying root imbalances to promote overall well-being and prevention of illness.

The Versatility of TCM Acupuncture

TCM Acupuncture is more and more being used by Hollywood Celebrities for Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation and Cellulite Treatments, instead of more costly and invasive procedures and surgeries.
